3 months trekking across the USA by Greyhound bus, relying on the generosity of the locals (discovering the true, non 'Bushified' character of the nation), & following the westward path of the American Dream (& trying not to get into too much trouble!).

What an all-around excellent experience for you, Kate! I think you really *must* continue this blog when you go home (if you ever *do* go home, of course ;) so that we can find out how this enlightening adventure really does affect your teaching career (should you still be allowed to have one, that is ;) and how you view the world. Somehow I have a feeling that your next cross-country trip (pick a country any country) is more likely to be on a Harley than a Greyhound!
How wonderful to hear from you Carroll. Yes, a Harley is very appealing, a trip across Europe sounds good and then back over here, I'll make sure I drop by your place on that one :)
oh my god, is that my baby???? hey girl sounds like you are getting exactly what you said you wanted to achieve on this trip. remember sitting in atomic in chicago... i can't wait to see you when you come home (please let her come home, lovely statesiders, we need a minchin to make britain less gloomy). every time i read a blog of yours i'm inspired by your adventures and the lovely things people say in the comments.
i love you, enjoy the rest of your trip, sweetie, here's to planning the next one ...need a b.o.b. for it?????????let it be meeeeee.

Wanted: woman in red bandana to ride with me next year in big parade.
I noticed what a great smile you have and think you would look great on the back of my bike. I am older, mature woman who likes to travel. xo texas
You're on, don't forget to bring the sign for the back of the bike :) xxxx
